Hardinge H-HD1 Carriage Length Indicator

This carriage length indicator mounts in the top right headstock cap screw with a threaded cylinder that inserts into the socket head, then is pushed against one side of the socket by three nylon tipped screws bearing against the painted surfaces of the headstock. The 12" long bar on which the indicator is mounted is .421" (27/64") in diameter. Surprisingly stable for such an arrangement and quite adequate for an indicator, but not solid enough to substitute as an adjustable carriage stop uless you are extremely gentle.











The post below is cut from 3/4" stock and is 1.315" long. The smallest diameter is .360" and the thread is 7/16-20UNF.
