This manual has a curious organizational construction. The first part is an "Addendum" that purportedly covers the AN/ARR-1, but the first six pages also apply to the ZB-3. The second part is the original ZB-3 Instruction Book, less its first six pages. Just click on the link below for the PDF.

Note: No Navy publication number was assigned to this document, nor AN Tech Order number. It also does not cover the small whip antenna for the Homing Adapter except in passing, since it was normally supplied by the Navy and USAAF as an "installed item" in the aircraft. Below are photos of the AN/ARR-1 antenna (*AT-5/ARR-1) for reference purposes. It is a simple 1/4" diameter rod antenna screwed onto a phenolic "hockey puck" that was installed under the skin of the fuselage. There is an SO-239 coax connector mounted on the underside to facilitate connection of the cable from antenna to the homing adapter.
